The Garvey House

The caucus that convenes under the name of Marcus Garvey is the most Conservative Arm of the Let's Define Progress Conference. Inspired by Marcus Garvey, this House believes in the power of the Black Nation and its ability to utilize or grow that power better when organized independently from the influence of other social orders or communities.

We are inspired by his practice of targeted entrepreneurship that provided jobs, opportunity, and a services which kept black dollars within the black community.

Leonard Howell

We are inspired by his belief that we, quite simply, can have our own beliefs. His recognition that we have the ability to glorify and deify members of our own community the same way that other cultures do around the world maintains the individuality of our thought.

The Honorable Louis Farrakhan

We are inspired by his life and actions. Where others fold to pressure he has always stayed true to himself and those who follow him. His willingness to speak his mind regardless of the blowback that could follow and his unwavering loyalty to staying true to the people of our community is unmmatched.
